Let's be honest. Almost all parents automatically go for fear and fail to discuss a healthy diet. It is written all over our faces. We enter this conversation in the hope of fighting and even defeating it.
This does not have to be done. There are several creative and fun ways to get your kids excited about a healthy diet. This is especially true when involving children.
Have fun
There are many creative ways to make children make healthy choices. What you want to achieve is pride and the feeling that you are in control. Things flow a little smoother when you control yourself and get rid of the idea that it's your body and your choice.
Let your child accompany you to a stand of fresh fruits and vegetables. If the weather is nice, let the children choose their own fruit. From strawberries to apples, grapes, and pumpkins, you can harvest each season. When you go out, make sure that the food they choose is what they eat.
Take the children to the kitchen.
Many of us in the past generation seem to think that cooking is an act of one person. Take your child to the kitchen and take part in the action. Cooking should not be a chore for people. Let's celebrate the family. Tell your child how to help you prepare a family dinner. Alternate chopping and dicing (of course, age and safety are appropriate) and seasonings. No kid doesn't like adding spices to recipes.
This gives children a great opportunity to see how enjoyable healthy cooking is while giving them pride and lifelong skills. If you can't cook, you don't know how to survive!
In turn, it's fair.
Have a schedule about who can choose which meal of the week. Make sure your kid sits on Sunday and browses cookbooks for simple recipes or goes online. We all know that children have perfect access to the internet.
By letting each child choose a meal once or twice a week, you give that child a sense of accomplishment and accomplishment. I will ask for the ingredients and bring them to the store. Enjoy going home and sorting and grouping your vegetables by color. Cut them, dice them, pre-cook them, and put them in a small bag for later use.
Another great idea is to prepare a special treat with healthy ingredients for dessert and prepare for the weekend. You can also use skim milk or egg whites to make desserts that are good for your health, fun and delicious.
