Most women are unaware of this fact, but breast cancer is not the number one killer. It's heart disease. Armed with this fact, today's women need to be more sensitive to their bodies, what they put in them, and how they use them. Women's lifestyles today are very different from what they were a generation ago. Women work and lead their families. There is also the influx of single mothers into today's society. It's no wonder that heart disease is the biggest killer of women, as all the stress is placed on them.
Time Is a Woman’s Best Friend
Have you ever noticed that many of today's women buy groceries, talk on their cell phones, write down something, and take care of their little ones? Women today are multitasking experts. But for what purpose? Women have the ability of superheroes to find time for everyone except themselves. They are the most important women in life. Finding time to teach good habits is important not only for women's health but also for family health. Who will take care of your family if you do not take care of yourself?
Nutrition
Take a few extra minutes in the morning and put a healthy snack in your bag. It could be as simple as a carrot stick, or nuts, or grapes. Maybe buying these very healthy snacks and taking them to work in another bag on Sunday night is all you need to kickstart your week.
Exercise
Common sense tells us that exercise is important. One hour a week is a good start. One hour a week is not a big commitment, it benefits both health and attitude. After that time, you will feel better and want to keep pushing yourself.
Use a bright red pen to write that you exercise one hour a week, even if your lunch break is active. Also, if you can use the stairs without using the elevator, do so. Plan an extra 5 minutes each day to commute on foot. If the weather is nice, stop early on the subway or bus and walk a little.
Hold you accountable to your sister, husband, child, or best friend. Include them in your commitment and make them accountable to you.
If you incorporate some form of aerobic exercise into your lifestyle, you'll want to do more. Cardio has many benefits, from heart health to peace of mind to better sleep.
With all these benefits, really think about your loved ones and take care of your mind on the list of things to do today!
