What is the biggest problem with memory tricks? Of course, don't forget to use them. There are many memory techniques that work well, but unless you get into the habit of using them, you will forget them when you need them most. Therefore, if you take the time to learn the technique, use it until it becomes automatic. There are a few things to try.
Using a Story-List
When I was a kid, I was at a party. There was a game to see a table covered with 15 different items. A few minutes later, we were taken to another room, where each child was given a piece of paper and a pen. I had to write down as much as I could remember. I remembered 7 or 8, but remembered all 15 items, and one boy won the prize. A few years later, I learned why he won. His father taught him a simple trick that none of the other children knew. The technique is to connect items in an imaginative story. For example, what if you want to remember a list of soaps, milk, honey, forks, and flowers? Start a living story with your imagination and add each item as you go: with a sink, you reach for the soap. The soap dish is full of milk, so wash your hands. Then comb the honey into the hair with a fork, and finally take the bouquet and smile into the mirror. While reviewing the "movie" in your head, if you say each point aloud, you will remember all things the next day.
Some Other Memory Tricks
Remember For example, when you remember a person's name, tell yourself, "Remember." It signals the subconscious to prioritize this input. Learn why you want to remember something and how to remember it. For example, to remember a person, ask why that person will be important to you in the future, then imagine where you will meet that person and associate it with everything that hits you about that person. Understanding the importance of remembering is really helpful, and additional associations (where you expect to meet the person next) fix your memory more firmly in your brain. Have you ever forgotten where you put your car key? You've probably tried to follow your path, at least in your imagination. This can work, but it's even better to remember in advance. When you put the key on the chair, find out how to put the key on the chair. You will never forget where you are. There are many more of these memory tricks. If you want to make them useful, don't just read about them. Make one or two reminder techniques a habit and start today.
