The kitchen has undergone many evolutions over the years. Once seen only in the back of the house, the kitchen design now takes the kitchen out of the background. The challenge in kitchen design is to create a more open kitchen that is part of a dining area, family room, or larger room.
When deciding how to design your kitchen, you should consider: Do you want to have an island in your kitchen? Do you want a modern or a traditional design? What appliances do you need in your new kitchen design? What kind of lighting design?
1. The kitchen as a "Great Room"
Whether you're remodeling an existing kitchen or planning a new kitchen for your new home, here are some design considerations. Incorporate an island or peninsula into your kitchen design. These can be used to connect the kitchen to a nearby dining area or family room to create a "big room". A kitchen island or peninsula allows chefs to stay in visual and conversational contact with family members, adjacent families, and dining room guests.
2. Construct a kitchen canopy
To give the kitchen a visible boundary without blocking the view, create a canopy over the kitchen. High ceilings in the kitchen can also give the impression of spaciousness.
3. Use kitchen cabinet colors to set the tone for your kitchen's design.
A kitchen cabinet that sets the tone for the entire room. Your choice of wood will affect the overall look of your cabinets. For a bright look, use light woods such as beech, ash, oak, birch, chestnut, and maple. For medium distances, choose cherry. For a dark kitchen, choose dark wood.
4.Plan the use of cabinets and drawers in your new kitchen design.
Before you start designing your new kitchen, plan how you will use your cabinets and drawers and how much space and storage you need in our kitchen design overview. The first thing to check is the counter surface. See where you put everything in your existing kitchen and where in your new kitchen design these things fit into your new space. Can multiple people cook at the same time? If so, is there enough space in the kitchen for two chefs to work together?
5. Use The Galley-Type Kitchen Design
When it comes to counter placement, many kitchen designers agree that a galley-type design is the best in terms of efficiency, with one aisle and counters on both sides, making it easy to move from the sink to the cooking area.
6. Under-Cabinet Kitchen Lighting
Kitchen lighting is often overlooked in kitchen design. The kitchen is generally bright, but the counter area can be a little dark. In these areas, under-cabinet lighting can help provide additional lighting for work. Simple spotlights and fluorescent lights can make a small kitchen look bigger.
7. Look at the countertop.
Marble, limestone, and granite are popular natural materials and come in a wide range of colors. Ceramic tile kitchen worktops are versatile, practical and come in a wide variety of patterns, colors, shapes, and finishes. The solid countertop provides a seamless acrylic surface. Solid surfaces are available in nearly unlimited patterns, colors, and styles and are heat and stain resistant. Laminated worktops are cheap, but they are not made to last. Concrete countertops are known for their versatility and strength. Wood countertops are durable and easy to clean and repair, but wood does not withstand water and household chemicals. Stainless steel countertops lack the elegance of granite or tile. These worktops do not absorb dirt, but they are prone to scratches.
