Is clean water important? 10 reasons why we need clean water.  

1. Clean water is indispensable for the human body. 

The human body is made up of 50–70% water and needs to be regularly supplied with clean water to maintain good health. I need clean drinking water. You need clean water to make food and drink. A healthy diet and clean water are inextricably linked. To ensure that we have sufficient water sources to meet this need, we must make a global commitment to clean water.

2. Clean water is essential to our food.

If we keep the water clean and fail to keep it clean, we end up with a contaminated food diet. Not only fish, but other meats, fruits, and vegetables also pollute us. If you want healthy, clean fish to spring from rivers, streams, and the ocean, you need clean water. If you need healthy organic produce, you need to purify the water used to irrigate the produce.

3. Clean water is vital to human health.

Clean drinking water is essential for health, but the United Nations and the World Health Organization (WHO) report that 1.1 billion people around the world do not have access to safe drinking water. The health effects are devastating. The United Nations estimates that 2.2 million people die each year from poor water and sanitation. Future generations can enjoy longer and healthier lives if we purify water, provide better hygiene, and teach people how to keep it clean.

4. Clean water is essential for water sports.

Swimmers in clean water are safe from illnesses and illnesses caused by contaminated or toxic water. Surfers don't have to worry about swallowing water during the wipeout. Boaters and other people who use our water for recreation can relax without worrying about pollution. But 27 years after the 1972 Clean Water Act was passed, 40% of our rivers, lakes, and estuaries are still too polluted for safe swimming and similar water sports.

5. Clean water is essential for fish and other wildlife. 

As humans, we need to consider the needs of fish, whales, waterfowl, and other underwater wildlife. Of course, you need to clean the water when an oil spill occurs, but you also need to work to clean the water that flows into the oceans, lakes, rivers, and streams. We need to purify water for wildlife that do not live in water but rely on clean water for health and cleanliness.

6. Water needs to be purified to reduce carbon dioxide emissions. 

Emissions from the production of bottled water are amazing. Sustainable engineer and MBA Pablo Päster conducted a thorough and comprehensive study of the cost of bringing a liter of Fiji Water to the United States. He found that bottlers use almost seven times as much water for bottling as they actually drink. The total amount of water used to manufacture and deliver one liter of imported water is 6.74 kg! 250g of greenhouse gas emissions were released during bottle manufacturing, water filling, and delivery.

7. Water needs to be purified to reduce waste. 

Plastic drinking water bottles take hundreds of years to biodegrade in landfills. Many plastic drinking water bottles pollute the landscape. Some are recycled, but the recycling process is said to pollute the environment with toxic carcinogens. Purifying water free of pollutants, additives, bacteria and viruses makes people less likely to rely on bottled water. 

8. Clean rain and snow are not givens.

Rain is just one step in the water cycle. Pure rain is filtered by the atmosphere, supplied by pure clouds, and does not automatically pass through space. Not so with pure white snow. The rain, snow, and other precipitation we receive reaches the sky from the waters of the earth. If we do not purify the water on earth, rainfall will become more and more polluted. Contaminated precipitation is harmful to everyone and everyone who falls.

9. Clean water is needed for overall cleanliness.

Whether you're washing in a machine, carpeting under a vacuum cleaner, or in the shower, you need clean water for universal cleanliness. From early preschool, children are taught proper hygiene — and clean water is important.

10. The consequences of inadequate access to clean water are too great.

Many have expressed concern that future water wars are more likely than current oil conflicts. If access to clean water is the essence of life, the lack of water cannot mean peace. Failure to purify water today could lead to World War III for future generations.

You may be able to add more reasons. You can replace it for another reason, but the end result is  the same. The water needs to be purified.
