At some point, we all experienced the effects of sunburnhether it was a mild burn or a large burn.
Regret of lack of protection (from UV rays) can be a good incentive to plan "future" opportunities more carefully, but the immediate physical distress (i.e., pain) associated with sunburn is not.
But if you find that it's taking a little too long in the sun, there are four natural home remedies to relieve the pain of sunburn and help the body's healing process:
1. Cool Milk:
Fat and lactic acid in milk are known to have soothing properties on sunburned skin. Soak a soft cloth or cotton ball in cold whole milk and gently tap on the burned skin. Do this for about 20 minutes, then rinse with cold water. (Due to the importance of the fat content of the milk, it is important to use whole milk in this treatment).
2. Cool, Sugar-Free Tea:
The tannins in the tea are the active ingredients here and help relieve the discomfort of sunburned skin. After brewing a large teapot and letting it cool completely, tap the affected area with a soft sponge or washcloth. As with vinegar, you can also spray the tea directly onto your skin in a spray bottle. And don't throw away your used (cool) tea bags. These are especially suitable for delicate eye areasust put a tea bag in your eyes when they feel hot and tired. (If you have St. John's Wort, consider using it as it has cooling properties that not only relieve heat on your skin but also help soothe nerve endings damaged by sunburn).
3. Aloe Vera:
Aloe vera is commonly used to treat sunburn. Not only does it have a healing effect, it also supports the healing process. Apply it to the affected area as needed. Gels extracted directly from the aloe vera plant are best, but if you do not have direct access, you can use a "commercial" aloe vera cream that contains the gel. To make this effective, make sure the cream contains a higher concentration of aloe vera than water or other solutions.
4. Water:
When exposed to the sun, your body loses water and essential body salt. Dehydration occurs when the body loses too much water and begins to reabsorb water from the blood and other body tissues. To prevent the effects of dehydration, increase your fluid intake and make sure your body is properly hydrated for optimal recovery and health.
Of course, sunburn should be avoided as much as possible. In particular, its side effects include not only skin damage but also an increased risk of skin cancer. Prevention and protection should always be considered the best treatment for sunburn and will help ensure your optimal long-term health!
These are home remedy tips only and are not a substitute for regular doctor's visits. If you have any questions about sunburn, always contact the appropriate medical institution.
