In recent decades, there has been a shift towards the mechanization and homogenization of agriculture, which uses pesticides, additives, herbicides, synthetic fertilizers, and mass production techniques. All of this is clearly affecting human health, and new diseases are spreading rapidly between humans and animals.
The World Health Organization reports that the use of chemicals and other products in food, along with the manufacturing processes involved, actually poses a threat to our health.
If you have room for a few pots or even a small plot of land, then growing your own organic vegetable garden is a wise decision.
Today, I present to you seven reasons to do so:
1.You will have no additives in your vegetables. Research by organic food associations has shown that additives in our diets can cause heart disease, osteoporosis, migraines, and hyperactivity.
2.No pesticides or synthetic fertilizers will be used. These chemicals are used to harvest crops all the time, regardless of pests or weather conditions, and affect the quality of the vegetables. In addition, pesticides are generally toxic to humans.
3.Your vegetables will not be genetically modified (GM). Antibiotics, drugs, and hormones are used on vegetables to make them bigger. One of the consequences of doing this is that all vegetables look the same and generally have no taste. Plus, we'll be consuming the hormones used on vegetables, with potential dangers to our health.
4.It is far healthier to grow your own organic vegetables. They won't contain any of the products or chemicals listed above, and they'll be much more natural than the ones you'll find at the supermarket. Your health will not be in jeopardy because then you will know that nothing was added to your vegetables.
5.Your own organic vegetables will taste much better. The use of pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, hormones, and antibiotics causes the vegetables to grow abnormally and lose their taste. With organic vegetables, your cooking will be more sublimated because their flavors will reveal themselves.
6.Organic farming that is environmentally friendly Because you won't be using pesticides or other similarly harmful products on your vegetables, you won't be damaging the soil or the air with chemical compounds.
7.When you grow your own organic vegetables, you contribute to your own self-sufficiency and the sustainability of the planet. Small communities have been established where members exchange products that they naturally grow, helping to create a friendlier and better place for all of us.
In the end, eating organic products just means that nothing is added to them but what they naturally have. As you might have guessed, additives, fertilizers, pesticides, or hormones are not ingredients of naturally grown foods. For better health, grow your own organic vegetables—and a few pots are enough.
